Jerry Lorenzo’s passion for fashion can be accredited to his experience in the world of baseball along with his career in the club industry. By originally starting in the club industry and then shifting to styling some of the most notable athletes in the industry, Lorenzo quickly realized that there was something lacking in his wardrobe, his clients’ wardrobe, and the overall fashion industry: high-quality and minimalist apparel essentials. He desired something more than just a simple t-shirt, but something elevated that upgrades any wardrobe while still taking on a minimalist approach. This realization and his overall efforts are what contributed to the initial launch of Fear of God in 2013.
The contemporary luxury streetwear label Fear of God has garnered the attention of millions worldwide. Fear of God’s goal is to combine the softness of sportswear with the complex intensity of expert tailoring. At the label’s height, Lorenzo began brainstorming the idea of a Fear of God sub-label that was catered to an audience with more accessibility while still blending his beliefs of streetwear and contemporary wardrobe-essentials. Launched in 2018, Fear of God Essentials changed the fashion industry. By mixing and matching Fear of God’s original blueprint, Fear of God Essentials is a more accessible variation of the original label. Fear of God Essentials plays with a different blend of textures and layers presented in ready-to-wear silhouettes for men, women, and kids. Common offerings seen in each delivery include muted tones of tees, hoodies, crewnecks, sweaters, cardigans, shorts, sweats, and more.
With that, Fear of God Essentials introduces its latest knitwear delivery. Clean and sophisticated, these offerings are must-haves. One stand-out offering featured in the Fear of God Essentials Knitwear delivery includes the Cable Knit Turtleneck. This premium design is composed of a blend of cotton, acrylic, and nylon for an elevated experience. Cable knit detailing is placed throughout, with additional ribbing residing at the turtle neck, cuffs, and hem. The rubberized label ties together the look. Another notable item in this collection is the Fear of God Essentials L/S Polo. Composed entirely of cotton, the silhouette spotlights a rubberized label behind the pointed collar. Additional screen-printed reflective branding is seen at the chest. A single-button placket resides for added definition. The rib-knit detailing at the cuffs and hem finishes the overall silhouette.
