The Itchyworms Akin Ka Na Lang UK: Filipino Rock Band Brings OPM to Beatles’ Homeland in June 2025

Filipino rock band The Itchyworms are set to bring their “Akin Ka Na Lang” tour to the United Kingdom this June, marking another significant step in their expanding international presence. Following successful tours in Australia, Japan, and Canada, the beloved Manila quintet will perform three shows in the birthplace of their greatest musical influence, The Beatles.

Canadian Tour Success Sets Stage for UK

The Canadian tour last November was another milestone in the band’s international journey, reuniting all five members following their successful US tour in Spring 2023. The full lineup, featuring both original guitarist Chino Singson (who relocated to Vancouver in 2022) and Ciudad frontman Mikey Amistoso, delivered a special set of performances across Canada. The tour held added significance as Amistoso has since made Toronto his home, making the Canadian shows both a homecoming and a celebration.

Beatles Connection Brings Special Meaning

For a band deeply influenced by British rock, particularly The Beatles, this UK tour represents more than just another international stop—it’s a pilgrimage to the birthplace of their musical inspiration. With a history dating back to 1996, The Itchyworms have established themselves as one of the Philippines’ most enduring and innovative rock groups. Now, nearly three decades later, they’ll be performing at The Cavern Club, the legendary venue where The Beatles developed their sound and built their early following.

The Cavern Club date (June 23rd) stands as the emotional centerpiece of the tour. Given the band’s well-documented admiration for The Beatles and their influence on Filipino rock music, this Liverpool performance represents a meaningful connection between their musical roots and their current international trajectory.

Global OPM Success Story

The Itchyworms’ international success demonstrates how music can transcend language barriers and geography. Despite their lyrics being mostly in Filipino, international audiences have connected with the emotion, energy, and universal qualities in their music.
The band’s breakthrough 2006 album “Noontime Show” established them as domestic stars with hits like “Beer” and “Akin Ka Na Lang.” Their patient, methodical international touring over the past three years has built them a scattered but passionate global following, with their Japanese tours proving particularly successful.

The UK Tour Details

The band’s three-city UK tour kicks off at Manchester’s intimate Night & Day Cafe (June 22), followed by the much-anticipated Cavern Club show in Liverpool (June 23), before concluding at London’s The Dingwalls Camden (June 28).

The tour is being produced by FUCE Productions in partnership with Mega Musical Events, two organizations with growing reputations for bringing international acts to British audiences. FUCE Productions previously organized December Avenue’s successful UK tour in November 2024, while Mega Musical Events has established itself as a key player in bringing Southeast Asian artists to European venues.
The tour itinerary appears strategically planned, beginning with more intimate venues in Manchester and Liverpool before concluding in London. This structure allows the band to build momentum while offering different experiences for UK audiences.
