This week, the fashion industry saw a variety of news ranging from a creative director to lawsuits and even new campaigns.
Leading the charge was Tremaine Emory exiting Supreme after joining only in February of 2022 Chrome Hearts also made news as it is suing Shein for trademark infringement. Elsewhere, Kylie Jenner starred in Acne Studios’ FW23 Denim Campaign; Jacquemus, Cactus Plant Flea Market and other brands united for a Maui fundraising T-shirt; Levi’s teamed up with Eli Russell Linnetz’s ERL for the first time, and Marni announced it will host its first fashion in Paris this September
Below, Hypebeast has rounded up the top fashion stories of the week so you can stay up to date on trends in the industry.
Since the news broke, Emory took to Instagram to discuss his reasoning for leaving the brand because “systematic racism was at play within the structure of Supreme. Specifically, the designer shared a range of text messages and DMs to convey the extent of the issues that led him to leave the brand after just a year and a half.

As such, Chrome Hearts is claiming that the matter has resulted in financial losses alongside reputational harm. “Chrome Hearts purchased and inspected the accused products and confirmed they did not originate from Chrome Hearts or contain authentic Chrome Hearts marks,” the complaint stated. “Defendants [Shein] used the Chrome Hearts marks on the accused products without Chrome Hearts’ permission,” reads the complaint that was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
Chrome Hearts is seeking $2 million USD in damages alongside the halting of Shein’s manufacturing and selling of products with its registered trademarks.

The images reveal Jenner in a new ultra-oversized unisex jacket, mid-rise, wide-leg jeans, a sleek bandeau top, new accessories, the distressed leather Multi-Pocket bag and futuristic shades.
“The campaign sought to showcase Kylie as a woman who is in control, has a love for herself, and is unafraid to embrace her desires,” said Jacobs. “I aimed to celebrate her individuality by doubling her. She loves herself and is not afraid to show it.”
Earlier this month, Hawaii, specifically Maui, experienced one of the worst wildfires in its history – displacing thousands of Maui residents alongside additional historical/cultural damage. To aid in the recovery efforts, Jacquemus, Cactus Plant Flea Market and 15 other brands have united with the Hawaii-based creative studio, passionfruit, for a fundraising t-shirt.
The collaborative T-shirt appears in white with the phrase “Maui on My Mind” on the front in pink and black font. The back of the shirt includes the logos of all the brands included on the project. The complete list of names includes Jacquemus, Cactus Plant Flea Market, Brain Dead, Adish, Barragan, Combo, ECOCYCLE, Hawthorne, Kaiao Space, Luar, Mauna Loa, Moon Collective, No. 808, Salvage Public, Sig Zane and Waialae Sportswear.
100% of the proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be donated to the Kākoʻo Maui Fund.
With the new collaboration, the offering sees ERL’s signature retro meets pop stylings that harmonize with skatewear and surf culture. Leading the charge is Levi’s signature 501 jeans, which have been updated with slit cuts, while the loose-fitting silhouette boats frayed waistband.
“Because authenticity is the most important thing to me, I really enjoyed going through the Levi’s® archives to fully understand the heritage of the brand and see how people throughout the years have customized and made it their own,” said Linnetz. “Our Levi’s x ERL collection has a very grunge, casual, and skater energy. It’s easy to throw on for everyday wear but it’s still identifiable with a clear voice and signature.”
Also included in the collection are low-rise flare jeans, shorts, a mini skirt crafted from light wash indigo 5-pocket jeans, denim tops and more. The collection is set to release online at Levi’s and with select retailers on September 6.
The show is set to reveal the brand’s men’s and women’s Spring/Summer 2024 VOL.2 collection at palais, which was once Karl Lagerfeld’s private residence. The forthcoming show continues the brand’s world tour as it has recently shown in New York City and Tokyo.
Look out for Marni’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway at 51 Rue de l’Université on September 27.
